History

Since 2018, Joel Garcia, Latin America Missions Canada (LAM CANADA) and the church of Principe de Paz have been coordinating efforts to bring the hope of Christ to the region of Tachira, Venezuela. Despite their limited resources, the church of Principe de Paz works diligently to meet the needs of the poor and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those around them. Every week, the church reaches more than ten communities and over six hundred children.

In the past year, the region of Tachira has received more than a million rations of food to feed the hungry, over three hundred pairs of shoes, and much more. These gifts were made possible through LAM and generous donations from the Body of Christ.

During this season, we want to meet the needs of the current emergency in Tachira, Venezuela. However, our hope is not only to provide food but to also equip them to be self-sustaining. In partnership with LAM Canada, we have already provided tools and seeds to start several community vegetable gardens and have also supplied egg-laying chickens.

Please pray for Venezuela:
  • Pray that the Lord would work miracles to meet the needs of the poor
  • Pray that the church of Christ in Venezuela would grow, be strengthened and continue to be a light unto the world
  • Pray that the people in Venezuela would be transformed by the power of the Gospel and find their hope in Christ alone

Through your generosity, this ministry could feed 200 needy people for three months for $0.60 per day. COVID-19 Response COVID-19 has brought the region of Tachira, Venezuela deeper into poverty. In addition to health concerns caused by the virus, the border to the neighbouring country of Columbia has been closed indefinitely, resulting in food shortages, climbing prices and fewer sources of income.
